Fisker Karma - 2008 Detroit Auto Show

U.S. based Fisker Automotive, Inc., unveiled their first production four-door plug-in hybrid premium sports sedan dubbed the Fisker Karma at the Detroit Auto Show 2008.

The first Fisker Karma cars will ship in the 4th Quarter of 2009 and have a price-tag of $80,000.

The Fisker Karma features plug-in hybrid technology, dubbed as Q DRIVE, developed by Quantum Technologies exclusively for Fisker Automotive.
The Karma's Q DRIVE configuration consists of a small gasoline engine that turns the generator, which charges the lithium ion battery pack, powering the electric motor and turning the rear wheels. This proprietary design allows consumers to drive the car emission free for up to 50 miles a day provided the car is charged every evening.

Similar in height to the Porsche 911, the length of the Mercedes Benz CLS, and the width of a BMW 7-series, the Fisker Karma's structure and body panels will make extensive use of aluminum to keep the overall vehicle weight as low as possible.

The Karma will offer self-contained climate control, as you will have the option to purchase a full length solar roof that will help charge the car and provide cooling for the interior cabin while the car is parked.

You race to 60mph in less than 6 seconds and the top speed is beyond 125mph.

Fisker Automotive announced also that the company has received a second round of venture capital funding from Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers. The multi-million dollar investment builds on the original venture capital funding from Palo Alto Investors.

Will ShahRukh Khan, Hrithik Roshan Drive You Krazzy?

It’s the age of the item boys. Abhishek Bachchan began it all with One Love. And now we have even Tusshar Kapoor doing an item number in Rohit Shetty’s Sunday . However, more and more ace actors are giving in to the trend of these snazzy numbers that often tend to make it to the top of the charts. It’s not going to be long before Shah Rukh Khan will shoot for an item song for Rakesh Roshan’s Krazzy 4 and we learn that beta Hrithik, too, shall do some dhamakedar steps for this Krazzy venture soon enough – sometime this month itself, we hear. Apparently Kareena Kapoor was approached to do an item number for the film, but she declined, never mind the krazzy amount of money she was being offered. So let’s just wait and watch how krazzy Hrithik and SRK drive you.

What is Love?

Everyone admits that love is wonderful and necessary, yet no one agrees on just what it is.

I myself, too, don’t boast of knowing exactly what love is, and I don’t think there is any appropriate definition of love. One can just point out some features of it. In doing so, I may need to take help of some great minds:

“Love is an irresistible desire to be irresistibly desired.”

—Robert Frost.

This is what love is. If you think you can resist it, you’ll surely feel otherwise later.

“Love is an energy – it can neither be created nor destroyed. It just is and always will be.”

—Albert Einstein.

Now you see why you cannot resist it. This is also why you cannot create it. You must accept it as it is.

“Love is composed of a single soul inhabiting two bodies.”

—Aristotle.

This is of course in case Mutual Love. It needs sharing and mutual understanding, as we all know.

And now one for those who are more rational:

“Love is like pi (∏) — natural, irrational and very important.”

—Lisa Hoffman.

Do I need anything more to say? These are some examples of expressing what love is. But, in fact, all of us have different views on the same subject.

And one thing you must remember before falling in love:

“Love is much like a wild rose, beautiful and calm, but willing to draw blood in its defense.”

—Mark Overby.
