David Hernandez eliminated on "American Idol" - Finalist David Hernandez was eliminated tonight from the American Idol competition after he received the fewest of America's approximately 29 million votes. On Tuesday's performance show, Hernandez, 24, from Glendale, AZ, sang "I Saw Her Standing There." After Ryan Seacrest announced Hernandez's elimination, American Idol took a look back at his experience set to Ruben Studdard's "Celebrate Me Home," the show's new weekly goodbye song.David Hernandez - who landed in the bottom three with Kristy Lee Cook (who also murdered a Beatles classic, "8 Days a Week") and Syesha Mercado - didn't look too surprised when his name came up, and neither did the judges.

He earned a little notoriety a couple of weeks ago, when an Associated Press story described a pre-"Idol" vocation as a male stripper. "Idol" producers shrugged, though viewers probably didn't.

Katharine McPhee Marries With Nick Cokas
